Our Story — The Heart Behind Glisser Beauty
My journey with skincare began long before Glisser Beauty was created. It started with my grandmother in Kumasi, Ghana — a strong, hardworking woman who owned a cosmetics store that served our community with care, knowledge, and pride. Growing up around her store, I watched how seriously she took skin health. She believed skincare wasn’t just about beauty— it was about confidence, wellness, and self-respect.
From her, I learned to appreciate healthy, radiant skin and
the importance of understanding what truly works for melanin-rich skin. That
passion stayed with me as I moved to America and began building my own life.
Years later, when I reached my 40s, my skin suddenly began
to change. It became unpredictable — dullness, uneven tone, stubborn spots —
and nothing I tried seemed to work. I tested countless products, followed
trends, and listened to promises, yet the results just weren’t there.
That frustration pushed me back to my roots. I leaned on the
knowledge my grandmother had instilled in me and began researching deeply. I
realized something powerful: Black and brown skin has unique needs. Often, it
requires carefully balanced active ingredients — sometimes more than the
typical formulas provide — to truly achieve radiant, youthful-looking skin without
damage or bleaching.
That realization became the foundation of Glisser Beauty.
Glisser Beauty was born from a desire to create effective
skincare that celebrates melanin-rich skin — not to lighten it, but to enhance
its natural glow, health, and vibrancy. Every product is inspired by tradition,
backed by research, and created with the goal of helping people achieve
